SPL Powerlines Lisa Kabaso, Quality Advisor and whom sits on the Steering Committee for Women in Rail Scotland attended and supported their seminar and panel last week on - Ascent: Empowering Women on their Career Journey – Navigating the Rapids: Balancing Work and Life.
This event focus was on empowering women on their career journey and ‘The Culture Shock’ – Navigating the Rapids: Balancing Work and Life’ and looks at how to successfully navigate the challenges of combining a personal life with a fulfilling rail career.
Other highlights included a tour of Edinburgh Trams Control Centre and the Training Simulators and a great debrief on the Taylor Swift Eras Tour.
Our Regional HSQE Manager Fiona McMahon and Eloise Weir, Project Engineer also thoroughly enjoyed the session. Eloise said, As someone who is just about to turn 30, I found the night very insightful - hearing the kind of experiences that the women on the panel have had and the paths they have walked to get to where they are today. I left the night feeling very inspired and with a fresh outlook on what is still to come. I really enjoyed meeting new people and I also really enjoyed the site visit at Edinburgh Trams and driving the simulator. The geek in me had a great time!
